It's a surprisingly fair weathered San Francisco night at 2:28 am and though the winds arent howling and the fog isnt eating up the streets, the big and little household is well lit and bustling. Only because Big (John) like the rest of his species, (and by that I mean male homo sapiens) have never developed the skill of being organized and efficient when it comes to travelling and packing. And possibly because this (see picture below) is all thats left of his birthday carrot cake cupcake cake.
In approximately 3 hours and 32 minutes both our cellphones will screech alarms simultaneously and hopefully wake both of us up to catch a 5:30am bart train to SFO. Where the rest of the day consists of 3 airplanes and 3 lay overs. Definitely not Big's best birthday plans but we definitely celebrated previously the past week. And tonight. Which actually is part of the reason why we're both still packing and getting ready to leave our apartment alone and cold for 11 days at half past 2 am. A nice light dinner at Citizens band at 9pm and a post dinner drink at Bloodhound.
Baggy eyes and migraines aside, I cant help but feel excited for our little adventure that will unfold in the next 11 days. 2 weddings, 2 states, 4 cities, 24 hours and 44 minutes of airplanes and airports, beer tasting, hiking, landscape painting, reunions, and many more are on our plates this vacation.
Big has finally zipped the last of his luggage which is my cue to end this post and go to bed and somehow prepare myself for the craziness that will definitely ensue.
